Fighting for: Voting Rights
Arizona must expand voting options
Because we need to protect our democracy. Join us by securing the right to vote for every American during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Voters like you shouldn’t have to choose between public health and a functional democracy, but our elected leaders aren’t moving fast enough to protect us. The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented situation. So join us in demanding that Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, and Arizona lawmakers expand access to the ballot while protecting public health before the August and November elections, by implementing the following:
- Mail every eligible Arizona voter a ballot, as requested by Secretary Hobbs and the bipartisan leadership of local elections officials
- Require safe and meaningful in-person options for people without reliable mail service, or who need accommodations or language assistance
- Ensure sufficient in-person and mail-in opportunities on tribal lands and consult meaningfully with tribal leaders before approving changes
- Ensure people with disabilities are afforded an opportunity to vote by mail privately and independently, and include support and information in American Sign Language, Braille, and other required forms of communication
- Provide accessible language assistance and information, at polling locations and remotely for mail voters
- Extend in-person early voting from 30 days before Election Day up until 5 p.m. on the day before the election
- Allow voters to register to vote through Election Day
- Increase opportunities for requesting and returning ballots (including drop boxes) and allow return of sealed ballots by anyone of the voter’s choosing
- Count all ballots postmarked by Election Day, extend the time for completing the count, and expand the signature curing period for voters
Without these considerations, many historically disenfranchised groups will face barriers to the ballot. Join our movement by adding your name to this petition to ensure your voice is heard and every vote is counted in Arizona!
Thank you for speaking out.
Sincerely,
